‘Dame Helen Mirren has definitely had surgery’ – claims top cosmetic surgeon Professor Laurence Kirwan
Dr Laurence Kirwan’s biography published on WIKIPEDIA gives an overview of his professional achievements and personal ethics.
The Professor Kirwan can’t believe that no one noticed the sunglasses last year
British actress Dame Helen Mirren continues to defy age with a stunning body and appealing face but it may not all be due to genes and good nutrition, said noted cosmetic surgeon Professor Laurence Kirwan.
“The sunglasses suggest she’s obviously post-eyelift and probably has had some other surgery as well. Her face looked suspiciously taut and immobile for an actress. It’s surprising how incurious or naïve the UK press can be not to notice that kind of thing,” Dr Laurence Kirwan said. The sojourn in Los Angeles has clearly taken years off her face.
It is also rumoured that the Queen had a facelift done years ago. She looks remarkably good for her age.
Cosmetic surgery not only makes you look better but it improved your quality of life and your body image. You don’t have to take Prof. Kirwan’s word on that. The scientific literature has many studies which say just that.
Dr Laurence Kirwan is a recognised international leader in aesthetic plastic surgery with clinics in Harley Street, London; New York City; and Connecticut, USA and the UAE. He specialises in aesthetic plastic surgery of the face, breast and body. Dr. Kirwan also has many signature procedures for breast and face. Most recently he has been popularising the face shaping operation of which his ‘waif’ look procedure is one.
Mirren, who turned heads in a red bikini in 2008, did so again during the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 13. Wearing a sleek Badgley Mischka gown with a simple hairdo and little jewelry, she remained the epitome of an ageless actress, to most people.
The Oscar-winning actress is known to shun Botox, letting her longtime beauty show through the wrinkles of age. Mirren has said she‘s had no cosmetic surgery, relying instead upon common sense, including moderate exercise and avoiding smoking and drinking.
However, Dr Laurence Kirwan said the sunglasses and the facial appearance they failed to hide suggest to the trained eye that she has had a facelift and possibly other cosmetic surgery.
“She’s obviously a beautiful woman but it seems not all of that beauty is natural. However, I will say that the work she has had done is rather good,” Laurence Kirwan said.
Prof.Kirwan said Mirren is an excellent example of a celebrity not overdoing cosmetic surgery, instead using it judiciously to its intended effect.
“Some celebrities employ cosmetic surgery for its own sake, with predictably disastrous results. She has known what she wants done and why and hasn’t let surgeons talk her into getting more work done,” Dr Kirwan said.
Mirren reportedly uses discarded tea bags to relieve puffy eyes. Kirwan said it’s not as weird as it sounds, since the bags concentrate and contain the needed moisture in one place.
However, he did take issue with her reported use of 3Lab’s “h” serum, which goes for $200 a dose, for skin rejuvenation.
“It seems to be a good moisturizer but it doesn’t work for skin rejuvenation,” Dr Laurence Kirwan said.
